St Wilfrid’s Church
The ancient church of St. Wilfrid’s has been a place of worship for over seven hundred years. It contains some of the oldest stained glass in Warwickshire and is the resting place of George Eliot’s grandparents. It is a place of continuing Christian worship, and our aim is to develop it so that it can remain at the centre of the community in the 21st Century. Unfortunately, this Medieval church will soon come to the end of its life if immediate action isn’t taken to protect and restore its crumbling stone work and interior for the future.
St Michael’s Church
St. Michael’s Church in New Arley can be a valuable centre of the community if it can be saved. The church served the proud mining village of New Arley and with this as an inspiration it can with its Community Centre be the centre of the village again. However, both the church building and the attached Community Centre are in immediate need of restoration if they are to continue in the future. As part of our plans to serve the community they too need to be saved.
